Back to Brighton

I made it back to Brighton today — Day 3 of the Eastward journey.  I’m looking forward to a night in my own bed — although I spent most of the afternoon napping there already 😁

The only disappointment was that Mama’s was not open.  I don’t know if I was too early in the day or what their story is.  Becky and I rode here (Stockbridge) last year in the Fall and they had closed for the season.  It is such a cute little place right on the edge of the trail. I have heard good things about it but have yet to taste its offerings. One of these days!!!!

Today is the shortest ride on the West to East trip.  I was totally psyched since I knew the trail from having ridden most of it many times. The pace was faster than usual too since a lot of the ride was on asphalt.  It’s amazing what a difference it can be when you’re riding with confidence of the route and fuel from a full day of eating yesterday.

I took full advantage of the truck in my garage.  I drove to downtown Brighton and visited the Brighton Bar & Grill.  I had the Louisiana Cajun Fettuccine — chicken, andouille sausage, red peppers and a wonderful cajun cream sauce.  This wasn’t the first time I’ve had it — it’s one of my favorite meals.

Two days left to Lake Huron!! Tomorrow will get me to Becky’s house and Saturday I plan to be at the Lakeside Park in Port Huron, dipping my front wheel into the lake 👍
