The Michigander

Michigander is one of the unofficial demonyms for residents of the State of Michigan.  I’m using it in this case to refer to a bike ride that the League of Michigan Bicyclists puts on every year.  In 2022, the ride started on the shores of Lake Michigan in the town of South Haven and finished on the shores of Lake Huron in the town of Port Huron. The route mostly followed a series of rail-trails 267 miles across the whole State of Michigan.

For my ride this year, I will be following the majority of the LMB Michigander 2022 but with a bit of an adventure on the front end and some additional riding to get to some campsites to spend the nights.

I hope to blog each night as I did on the New Jersey ride last year.  This trip will be a lot different though, I won’t have a support vehicle with all kinds of extra equipment available.  I am packing everything I need in a Burley cargo trailer that’s less than the size of a suitcase.

Wish me luck and stay tuned!!!
